minutes remaining

Spending time with my wife, Karen over that past few days…I’ve seen a lot of “brain” images. We are at the Amen Clinic in Costa Mesa to see if we can get some insight to her ongoing health issues that have culminated in her recent seizure.

That being said…it seems like new “old terms” are coming up again that dovetail with the MKE training. Daniel Amen refers to Automatic Negative Thoughts as ANTs.

He works a lot with brain mapping and seeing if there is indeed biological reasons for behaviors but doesn’t stop on the training of “thinking correctly”.

It’s like he has his own 7 day mental diet. The automatic is the subby. I see myself now participating in the recovery that my wife is involved in with different but parallel tools.

Over lunch, we just mused over who could remember the name of the waitress who gave her name 3 times and then gave an analogy to remember it. Turns out, my wife remembers better than me. Maybe the wrong person is getting the scans.

Whether they are ANTS, negative thoughts, prejudices or criticisms…they all need to be recognized and interrupted. I continue to start over…again and again.
