MKE Week 12 Blog
Positive Bias
By nature, I am a positive person, so this week’s exercise was especially enjoyable. It gave me the opportunity to reflect on all the good and positive things I do—and have done—and on the many meaningful experiences I’ve had along the way.
A big THANK YOU to the entire Master Key Experience (MKE) team for guiding us through this powerful work.
I am truly grateful for the MKE experience and continue to grow and learn more each week. (See how I snuck the Law of Growth in there? 😊)
That reflection brings me to another important principle: the Law of Forgiveness. This past month has been filled with news of senseless and horrific violence around the world. As I reflect on these events, so many of the Laws of the Mind come rushing in.
The Law of Substitution especially stands out, because negative thoughts can easily flood the mind when we focus on acts of hatred and violence. In those moments, I remind myself of the words of Jesus, the Master Teacher: “Resist not evil.”
This week challenged me to consciously choose where my thoughts rest—and to replace fear, anger, or judgment with compassion, understanding, and peace.
I have more I could say, but I noticed something else creeping in: my old blueprint. I caught myself becoming a clock watcher—thinking about the rest of my day and how I’m going to get everything done—instead of being guided by the compass.
Note to self: it’s time to replace the habit of watching the clock with the habit of following the compass.
They say the beginning of change is recognizing that a change is needed. I am aware, and I am actively working on letting the compass lead.
That’s all for now.
Peace be the Journey,
Larry Russell

Congrats on following the compass Larry! And using the 7 Laws of the mind
Very good reflection, Larry. A Native American proverb asks, ‘Which wolf are you feeding?’ That feels essential here as well — choosing to focus on grace, gratitude, and what is beautiful, while living in alignment with one’s own authenticity (compass) 🌠
Good on you Larry.
Peace really is the journey. 🦋
You’re not just studying the Laws—you’re practicing them in real time, with compassion and honesty. Catching the clock-watching and choosing the compass instead is the shift. Your positive bias is becoming wisdom in action.
Larry, thank you for this powerful and timely reflection. The way you’ve connected the Law of Forgiveness and the Law of Substitution to world events and your personal blueprint is deeply moving. “Resist not evil” is such a profound, challenging directive, and your commitment to replacing fear with compassion is a true light in the darkness. Your honesty about catching the “clock watcher” habit is so relatable—awareness is indeed the powerful first step. Thank you for guiding us back to the compass. Peace on your journey, indeed.
Well done, Larry. Good job applying the Laws of the Mind!
