Press Release
May 17, 2029 at The Gables Historic Inn & Restaurant in Beach Haven, NJ
On a beautiful day in Long Beach Island, NJ at a quiet table in a stunning outdoor patio at the Gables Historic Inn & Restaurant, Dr. Andrew Howler met with Amy Nelson in an interview to prepare for an upcoming podcast.
When I questioned Dr. Howler about this particular choice for a guest on his show, he replied, “What Amy has accomplished in such a short time, with so little in her past experience, is truly remarkable.
As a neuroscientist, I am intrigued and fascinated by this transition and think she has significant things to share with others.”
It is pre-season in LBI (season begins Memorial Day weekend), so the great crowds of people have not yet arrived. The patio is empty except for one table with Amy and Dr. Howler.
As I arrive to join the two of them, I am amused by the casual laughter they seem to be enjoying.
“What have I missed?” I say.
Dr. Howler replies, “Amy was telling me how not too long ago, she and her husband were preparing for retirement, downsized their house, downsized to one vehicle and joked about just ‘waiting to die.’
Then something sure happened because only 3 ½ years later she is sitting here as the owner of multiple homes, one of which is right here in LBI.”
Dr. Howler turns to Amy and asks what exactly happened.
“Well, I’ve always had this itch inside. Maybe you could call it a constant dissatisfaction of reality – like I was missing something or hadn’t achieved something really important.
As a woman of faith, I was confident in who I was, but I still longed for more. I never really understood it.”
Amy continued, “When my kids were young and living at home, I was quite content to care for the kids and the home, despite the longing in my heart. It really hit me when Chip & I became empty nesters.”
Dr. Howler asks, “What changed?”
“I didn’t have the distraction of family to care for and the emptiness just seemed like it wanted to swallow me. I had a moment of epiphany in July 2025. It was right after our daughter got married in Italy and I spent some time sitting at the park just thinking.
That was my goal – just think. While sitting and listening to the birds sing and feeling the wind brush across my face, I realized what I truly wanted. For the first time in my life.”
Amy went on to share how she realized that in order to move toward her newly discovered goal she would need a support system. She chose to participate in the Master Key Experience with Mark Januszewski. She then describes a dramatic change.
Here it is in her words: “I realized that my reality was entirely the result of my own thinking. And even more than that, my future reality could be impacted by the way I choose to think.
Through the MKE, I learned how to change the way I think. Andrew, you know how it is, our minds are incredibly powerful and learning to use my mind to achieve my goals was life changing for me and my family.”
She continued, “Here I sit talking with Dr. Andrew Howler because I learned how to train this noggin. Haha. I have a multi-million dollar home on the bay here in LBI.
You know, we purchased this because our daughter loves LBI and we knew that in order to see her, we’d have to be in LBI during the summer. This place has been a wonderful summer home for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.
And if that isn’t enough, we have a similar home in Smith Mountain Lake, VA – large enough for the whole family, nice big pontoon boat on the dock. I just love having these special places where my family can get together.
Everyone lives all over the US so this is how we see each other. One month in LBI and another month in SML – the kids know where to find us in the summer. And I get all the love and snuggles from my grandkids. I just love them.”
Dr. Howler asks, “What else changed?”
“As my Basket of Bounty blog gained momentum, actually it seemed to happen so quickly, but as it gained interest, I found that my own personal enjoyment increased. I enjoyed it previously, but as it became more popular, I enjoyed it more.
I would get emails and messages from people who said their lives were impacted by the things I wrote and said. What a privilege! I can still remember the day when I went over 1,000 subscribers!
Now for a popular blog, 1,000 is not a lot, but back then it was a huge accomplishment for me. At this point, my husband was involved in the blog and he called me at the salon and said, “You made it! We are over 1,000 subscribers!”
I was so excited, and I knew it was just the beginning. We actually had a party! The party was just with me, Chip and some of my closest friends and family, but it was such a grand moment.”
“I also remember the very moment I published that 1st book. I was so nervous, but also very excited. I had no idea that it would quickly become a best-seller! That was back in 2026 and I’ve written many books since then.”
Amy leans back with such confidence and composure, it’s hard to believe it when she says that overcoming insecurity was one of her biggest accomplishments. So of course, Dr. Howler asks how she did such a thing.
“To be clear, I was confident in many ways – as a woman of God, a godly wife, a mother. But when it came to corporate success or business accomplishments, I always felt like I didn’t measure up to others.
And it was weird because I didn’t have a dream to be a corporate leader – I prioritized autonomy far too much for that. But when I was in the presence of other business leaders or people that I thought were successful, I felt like crawling into a hole because I wasn’t important enough.”
Dr Howler leans closer and says, “So what did you actually do? How did this change happen – especially after so many years in that same place? “
Amy went on to describe the daily practice she maintained to control her mind so that she could control her future. Through these practices, she was able to completely eliminate insecurity.
That’s pretty amazing, especially considering that Amy has become a dominant influential leader online. It’s hard to believe that insecurity once held her captive.
Watching her carefree approach in her videos, combined with her authentic writing style, it really is no surprise that she has accomplished so much. It seems that all this amazing-ness was always inside her – a fact that she herself confirms.
“In one of Mark J’s workshops, I remember looking at a picture of a young girl, arms stretched wide, looking like she’s ready to conquer the world with a caption, ‘Remember her?’ Oh, it was worse than salt in a wound. I cried.
I remember that girl of my youth and I completely lost her somewhere along the way. I wanted her back. I longed for her confidence, her tenacity, and her strong will.
So I decided to trust Mark J, trust the MKE and most of all, to trust myself but putting aside all distractions and focusing on learning how to control my thoughts so they worked for me and not against me.
That’s a really humbling moment – when you realize that not only are you responsible for your current reality, but you also have the power to change it.”
Amy continues, “I’ve always believed that on some level, but now that belief has expanded to all areas of my life. I am healthier and more energetic than I’ve ever been before, oh and I’m 56.
Financially we have established a great legacy for our family that will provide my grandchildren with options they may not have otherwise. This year, I am taking my husband to the World Series.
We are going to live it up and celebrate because the only other World Series he went to was the one where they had an earthquake in 1989. I am contributing support for 5 young Christian missionaries so they can go do their work without worrying about finances.
Incredibly relevant ideas for blog posts, social and video content seem to come to me effortlessly. It’s just amazing the shift.”
At this point Chip, Amy’s husband who had joined us at the table a bit earlier, chimes in. “My love for Amy has never wavered. I always knew the greatness within her, but watching her share it with the world has been one of my greatest privileges.
I am beyond proud of her and of course, I am reminded daily when I look at the Rolex on my wrist which she had engraved with ‘She believed she could, so she did.’”
Be sure to watch for this podcast to be published where Amy and Dr. Howler will talk more about the specific “practices” Amy began doing daily in pursuit of her new reality. Amy’s blog and Dr. Andrew Howler is on Instagram as @Drandyh.
