My ability to listen to my heart / God / Universal Mind is growing. Through all the meditations, lessons, and time spent listening I have grown my muscle of listening to God in my mind.

I was recently on a walk when I heard, “take your mom to see the cherry blossoms.”

There is a big beautiful row of Cherry Blossom trees along the waterfront in Downtown Portland. When they are in full bloom it is quite the sight to see. It is almost overwhelming the joy they bring.

So I heard the voice and I was obedient to the voice. This isn’t something completely out of the ordinary, I spend a good amount of time with my mom but this was so specific. I heard this message loud and clear.

I called my mom up and asked her if she was interested. There were a few road blocks. Which I feel are important to list. Just because there are road blocks, it doesn’t mean you should stay the course.

She didn’t get my text or respond to it for ~24 hours (came to find out her phone was not working right) but I was in my yoga class on Saturday morning and the voice came back.

So I listened. I called her after my class and she was so excited to hear from me and agreed quickly. She was at my house in 20 minutes.

We got downtown and made our way to the magnificent trees. We stepped up to see a large crowd of people relishing in the trees’ beauty. The joy was palpable. The trees were bright pink and in full bloom.

The sun was shining. The sky was blue. There was a musician playing his keyboard and trumpet. The vibes were incredible. My mom turned to me with tears in her eyes and said “I’ve never seen these before.” My eyes welled up too and we walked on to marvel underneath the tree’s beauty and grace.

I ended up telling her about that voice in my head and she was moved too. I’m grateful this voice is becoming clearer and I can’t wait to see what other marvelous experiences it will bring me next.
