Discovering the World of Press Releases and the Subtle Art of Harmlessness
This week, my focus was all about press releases.
I reached out to our marketing department to learn how they’re crafted, and in the process, I got a fascinating glimpse into a completely different world.
For several evenings, I worked on content and wording drafting, editing, rephrasing and I realized how much I enjoy playing with language and tone.
I’d promised myself to stay consistent every day, and to my surprise, it felt effortless. I didn’t need reminders or extra motivation the work simply flowed.
One idea that kept me company through all of this was the practice of harmlessness. Life really does feel lighter when you drop the need to criticize. But adopting what I like to call my “habit of harmlessness” isn’t always easy.
It takes awareness. The little mind, the Monkey Mind loves to be right, to defend itself, to comment and judge. But ultimately, I’m the one in charge.
So I keep practicing catching those split-second judgments about situations or people before they slip through the cracks. It’s ongoing work, but it’s worth it.
Because with every harmless, nonjudgmental thought, life becomes a little simpler, a little brighter, and a lot more peaceful.

Congrats Dorothea!
Having spent 10 years commenting on blogs, I consider myself somewhat an expert and I say, “Dorothea, your work keeping those opinions in check is already starting to pay dividends. Good for you!”
Reprogramming the Old Blueprint with new healthy habits is indeed a serious and most often difficult endeavor, but you really seem to have found the proper way to achieve this remarkably! Congratulations and thank you for this inspiring article!

Yes it does Dorothea!! What a wonderful insight and practice you are developing.
Thank you for sharing.
This reminds me of my Yoga training of Ahimsa, the practice of non-harming or non-violence which includes harmful thoughts, words or intentions. What a commendable path to take! I salute you! Namaste.
