MKE Week 4 – The Power and Perception of Enthusiasm

During my meditation this morning, one word bubbled up clearly: enthusiasm.

It’s a word that the Master Key Experience often circles back to. Mark, the founder, reminds us how enthusiasm fuels our goals, strengthens our habits, and magnetises opportunities.

Without it, our daily readings, DMP’s, PPN’s and affirmations risk becoming mechanical. Yet with it; our words, our dreams, and our energy come alive.

Enthusiasm hasn’t always been celebrated in my world. As a child, I often heard things like “Don’t get carried away,” “Calm down,” “Don’t be so dramatic,” “Tone it down,” and “You’re too much.”

Each phrase quietly chipped away at my natural spark. The message was clear: enthusiasm was excessive, inappropriate, or even embarrassing.

Fast forward to adulthood, and I found the same theme echoing. Just last week at Speakers Club, I delivered a humorous speech. It was fun, lively, and authentic to me; until the evaluation came.

I was told I “speak too much” and that my “enthusiasm made the pace too fast.” Though I passed the level, I left wondering: who decides what’s too much?

It made me reflect on how enthusiasm is often a mirror for others’ comfort zones. What feels like joy and passion to one person can appear overwhelming to another. So is enthusiasm truly a trait or simply a perception filtered through someone else’s lens?

Through the Master Key Experience, I’m learning that true enthusiasm isn’t about external approval. It’s the divine spark of life expressing through us. Our spirit in motion. When we suppress it, we dim our own light. When we allow it, we inspire others to remember their own.

Much like a dog who gets excited about going for a walk, or running after the stick it has no bounds of limitations, our human-ness enjoys watching a cute animal enjoying life.

So today, I choose to honour my enthusiasm. To speak and feel with energy, to feel deeply, and to let that fire guide me toward the life I’m consciously creating. Unapologetically.
