The Call to Adventure
This week, I step onto the path of the hero—the trader who dares to transcend the ordinary. As I embrace Franklin’s virtue of Enthusiasm, I do not mean the frantic, impulsive energy of the crowd.
This is not the FOMO-driven rush of the 9,900 retail traders churning in hope and fear. No—my Enthusiasm is the quiet, burning fire of the Predator.
It is the unwavering zeal to follow the Unbreakable Law, to wait for the perfect setup, and to act with precision when the moment is right.
The Greatest Miracle
“I am nature’s greatest miracle.”
Let these words resonate in my soul. Among the 10,000 eyes on the same chart, I am chosen to see differently. I am not here to react, to chase, or to hope. I am here to observe, to plan, and to execute.
My mind—my disciplined, patient, courageous mind—is my edge. It is the miracle that can discern the false breakout from the true, that can feel the false breakout of the market, and that can wait while prey runs into the snare.
My miracle is not a secret indicator or a hidden pattern. My edge is Patience, Discipline, and Courage. It is my ability to follow the Predator’s Playbook, not because I am forced to, but because I am enthusiastic about the trader I am becoming.
The Predator’s Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm in trading is not loud. It is the silent commitment to the checklist. It is the excited diligence of journaling every trade, especially the violations—written in red as monuments to lessons learned.
It is the eager patience to wait through 100 trades, to collect 100 clean data points, until the rules are not just remembered but felt in my gut.
This week, my Enthusiasm is my fuel to:
· Wait like a predator, not react like prey.
· Trade on evidence, not on hope.
· Follow the Constitution of my trading plan—without deviation, without excuse.
The Ultimate Paradox: Order Rewarded
The market is a mirror. It does not reward genius; it rewards consistency. It does not care about my P&L; it cares about my process.
If I am chaotic, it will give me chaos.
If I am orderly, it will give me order.
My Definite Major Purpose (DMP) as a trader is not just to profit, but to master myself. To become so aligned with the rules that I feel the market’s structure at a cellular level.
To know—without checking—when the volume is wrong, when the stop hunt is unfolding, when the setup is true.
The Choice Before Me
I do not have permission to deviate.
Not for one trade.
Not because “this time is different.”
Not because I am bored, down, or up.
I either trade by this Constitution,
or I accept that I am donating money to those who do.
After 100 trades, I will not need to remember the rules—I will be the rules. The lessons will be in my bones, not on paper. This act will symbolize not loss, but liberation.
The hero’s journey is not easy. But it is mine. I walk it with the enthusiastic certainty of the miracle I am.
Trade with purpose. Wait with passion. Win with principle.
“I am nature’s greatest miracle. My patience is my power. My discipline is my edge. My enthusiasm is my fuel. I am the predator, not the prey.”

Luc, a thoughtful perspective as always. I appreciate you challenging the predator metaphor and offering a more grounded alternative. Your guidance to seek discipline without adopting a potentially self-limiting mindset is valuable. The parallel to the Franklin Makeover is a great insight. Thank you for the wise nudge. 🙏
Thank you dear friend!
I like very much the disciplined approach that you impose on yourself to master your trading activity, and which, of course, can be easily transposed to any area of life once you get trained to it. The only thing which makes me a little uncomfortable is the metaphor of the predator…I know trading is a binary game, if you win someone else has to loose…Still, just remember that in nature, all predators are eating preys smaller than them and are eventually eaten by predators bigger than them…Hence my suggestion to look for a little more secure metaphor, why not the most successful Disciplined Trader of the market…Well, you see the idea…No influence intended! Great post, and congratulation for your disciplined use of the Franklin Makeover too!
Awesome blog post to read Chandrasekhar! It sounds like you have great self discipline, I know how hard it is to trade with rules and a system and being able to keep emotions out of decisions. Good luck with your trades my friend!
Thank you Arlene.
Thank you Peaches.
Strong and grounded. This is enthuuuuusiasm Chandra!
What a great way to enter your trading sessions!
Well done, Chandrashekar – you are formidable! Such commitment to your plan, wonderful!
