Week 13 – Awakened by True Love’s Kiss?

If we know the combination to a lock and enter the numbers in the correct order, the lock will open. Always. When we toss a ball into the air, it will rise, reach its apex, and return to the ground. That is law.

So if we are given a “Master Key” – one that is said to work unfailingly when applied as directed – why isn’t everyone using it to build the life they desire?

The answer, I suspect, is simple, in that no one believes it could really be this simple.

People are interested, but deeply skeptical. They want proof first. They’ll believe it when they see it — even though scripture reminds us that we see after we believe, not before. But we do like certainty in life.

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” ~Arthur Schopenhauer

As I’ve moved through these weeks – now three months in – I’ve experienced my own internal shifts. Subtle at first, but real. And others have begun to notice. Smiles are contagious. So are calm, ease, and higher energy.

Haanel writes that thought gains power when it is directed, purposeful, and aligned. And when intention is clear, action requires far less force.

Force does not equal power. They are fundamentally different. Focused attention, like sunlight passing through a magnifying glass held steady, has a very different effect than light scattered by constant movement. One creates heat. The other dissipates.

This metaphor hits close to home. I’ve lived much of my life scattered; easily inspired, easily distracted, pulled toward whatever catches my attention next. (I’m a yellow!)

Seeing something through to completion, especially something I deeply desire, requires a different kind of devotion. A steadiness I’m still learning. It hasn’t been natural to me.

Perhaps this is what it means to discover one’s true love – not a person, but a direction. Maybe this is the “true love’s kiss” that wakes us from unconscious momentum and brings us back into deliberate creation.

These weeks of discipline are laying a foundation. At the same time, they are quietly dissolving what doesn’t belong – habits, patterns, and assumed identities that were never truly mine.

What remains feels familiar, as if it has always been there, just buried beneath layers of noise. It feels solid, real, and somehow, just ‘right.’

I am still a work in progress.

But the shape is beginning to emerge.
