MKE Week 3 – Involve me and I learn
“Are you NOT being honest?” Davene asked me in the Q & A. What?! How dare she ask me such a question! Instantaneously, I was shocked and embarrassed. “I am a loyal, honest person, human. I wasn’t lying, for Heaven’s sake!” I thought to myself Wait…Deep Breathe, pause…AM I being honest with myself? Who do I need to be honest with? First and foremost, Me!!
I only need permission from myself to BE myself; to pursue my goals, my dreams, my life. I felt empowered after contemplating her question. Next, I began to answer my own questions, Who do I need to give clarity to? Who am I asking permission from??”
The answer to both questions is myself!! I am open to ideas, suggestions and even criticism from others. But, ultimately, I am the creator, the designer, the foreman, the worker, the salesman of my own life.
I only need to allow myself to involve myself, my own thoughts, desires and dreams. It is then, that I learn from myself that I CAN BE MYSELF and get on with MY definite major purpose in life! And the cement chips away a little bit more…..
A question that seems so mundane and simple on the surface, yet it is packed with deep meaning when we choose to take it to heart and look within. Thanks for sharing your experience.
It certainly can be difficult to be honest with ourselves. Cement is tough!!
