Week 4 in the Master Key is a big confirmation for me. I have had a sense for a long time of my life that God or the Great Spirit, or whatever one chooses to name it, is something that is inside of me and everyone and everything.
So many religious traditions speak of it as some mystical power outside of us that punishes us or rewards us for our actions. I always found that very challenging to accept. I eventually came to the conclusion that my understanding of it was different than these religious teachings.
I can remember having a discussion about spiritually with a friend and I told that I believe that I am God and not separate from God. And she responded by saying that I should be careful about thinking that I was a God, and I had to explain it further that I wasn’t “a God”, but that God was in me, in her and every other thing in our Universe.
I don’t think that she really understood, but it’s something I still believe- I am God, and I am not separate from God. A few years ago I read a book called” The Moses Code”, and it helped confirm to me that the “I” is very powerful in that when we say “I am….”,whatever we say after that is what we think and feel about ourselves.
For example, if we say” I am a diabetic”, then it’s very difficult to overcome that statement because it is locked into our subconscious, as opposed to saying “I have diabetes”, which allows us to be able to overcome the situation with help.
If it’s in our subconscious, it is very difficult to overcome without awareness and work. The ” I am ” statement is very powerful and I continue to use it with the awareness that whatever comes after it will affect me. I am that I am!

John, your profound discussion of God and the “I Am” presence resonated deeply with me. I have similar thoughts myself. It helps me to know I am not alone. Thank you.
“John, this post is a profound confirmation for me as well. Your struggle to articulate the divine within, versus a separate external God, mirrors my own journey exactly. I’ve had that exact same conversation and faced the same misunderstanding when trying to express that we are not separate from the source. The way you distinguish ‘I am God’ from being ‘a God’ is crucial. This timeless truth is perfectly encapsulated in the Sanskrit mantra ‘Aham Brahmasmi’—’I am Brahman’ or ‘I am the universe.’ It’s the same profound realization. Thank you for mentioning ‘The Moses Code’ and the power of ‘I am’—it’s a reminder I needed today about the declarations I’m unconsciously making. I am that I am. Aham Brahmasmi. Powerful, powerful stuff.”
I have thought these same thoughts. I take the words” I am “very seriously now.
I can really relate to the discussion with your friend, I had a discussion similar recently and I like your answer much better than mine:)
Excellent insights, John! Thank you for sharing.
