This week I was reminded of how water flows. A lazy river may be barely moving, while another river is known for its white-water rapids.

The Jordan River in Israel is mentioned frequently in the Bible. My understanding is there are times when it is a mere trickle one can easily step over. At other times, however, it is a mighty surge of water sweeping away all obstables in its path.

I am in the flow of giving and receiving.

At times it has been flowing through my life in a trickle, but now I am consciously widening it. I’m open to a miraculous swirling, nurturing flow in my life.

I’m open to being a miracle in my own life.

I’m open to being the miracle in other people’s lives.

Even though miracles really seems like a stretch, I’m widening my view and suddenly seeing miracles unfolding all around me in every smile, every hug offered, given and received, and every person.

I’m seeing the miraculous things that have already happened in my life, how far I’ve come, how much I’ve manifested.

I welcome the swirling energy of giving and receiving that flows into, through, and out of my life daily like a river.

  • Thank you, Lois! The properties of water are so amazing, the way it is able to flow and fill a space or container and adjust or adapt but also to change its external circumstances. That could be a whole other blog post!

  • Darnelle, thank you for this. I absolutely love water analogies! You are speaking my language!

  • I think that seeing the miracles in your own life is a prerequisite to being able to help another see the miracle in their life. I glad this is happening for you.

  • Darnelle, this resonates so deeply. Thank you for the beautiful reminder to widen the flow and recognize the miracles already swirling around us.

  • Love your analogy of the River! Rivers have always moved me, and you have written this beautifully!
