I’ve been experimenting with a simple but surprisingly powerful way to engage my subconscious: using shapes and colors as intentional triggers. What started as a curiosity has turned into a daily practice of awareness, presence, and quiet rewiring.

I am using these four symbols to work with: red circles, green triangles, yellow squares, and blue rectangles. Each one acts like a gentle signal to my subconscious, a visual cue that invites my mind to wake up and pay attention.

As I move through my day, I actively look for these shapes—on signs, screens, packaging, buildings, clothing, anywhere they naturally appear. When I spot one, I pause for just a moment and mentally acknowledge it.

The magic isn’t in the shapes themselves, but in what they represent. Red circles remind me to notice my body and emotions. Green triangles cue growth and forward movement.

Yellow squares bring me back to stability and clarity. Blue rectangles signal calm focus and thoughtful action. Over time, my subconscious begins to associate these visuals with specific internal states, without me having to force anything.

What I love about this practice is how playful it feels. There’s no pressure to “do it right.” It turns everyday life into a kind of scavenger hunt, gently pulling me out of autopilot and into the present moment. Instead of scrolling or rushing, I’m observing, noticing, engaging.
I’ve started to notice subtle shifts.

I’m more aware of my inner dialogue. I pause more often before reacting. My mind feels less cluttered, as if these small visual anchors are helping organize my internal world.

Using shapes to trigger my subconscious has shown me that retraining the mind doesn’t have to be heavy or complicated. Sometimes, change begins with something as simple as noticing a red circle or a blue rectangle—and allowing that moment of awareness to ripple inward.
