Part eight reminded me this week that thought is cause and conditions are effect. Whatever we hold in mind – harmony or disharmony – eventually shows up in our world. It sounds simple but today I watched this play out in real time.
Someone I had been working with has been struggling to stay on track. Their check-ins were full of reasons they couldn’t do their habits: food issues, low energy, looking for more things to do from bed, etc.
As I listened, it became quickly clear that their problem wasn’t their circumstances – it was the THOUGHTS they kept CHOOSING about their circumstances.
Haanel tells us the mind attracts the conditions it dwells upon. When we rehearse excuses, we get more excuses. When we choose limitation, the Universe politely agrees. And when we allow that energy into our own mental space, we feel it.
So today, I made a choice. I told them that I couldn’t work with them right now – not until they recommit to their habits. Not as judgement, but as self-protection.
Part eight teaches us that we must guard the entrance to our mental world. If I want harmony, clarity and creative power, I can’t invite disharmony inside.
If you’ve fallen behind in your habits, here’s your nudge: You are One decision away from stepping back into alignment!
That’s All I’ve Got!

Great advise. Thanks for the nudge. Your a great observer.
Great, Todd, you actually did “R2A2”, Recognize, Relate Assimilate, and Apply! What a great observation, clear understanding and taking full responsibility and taking an action! You are outshining yourself and that light is touching others, amazing!
Thank You Todd, that is exactly what I needed to hear!!
This is such a strong insight and an even stronger act of self-leadership. You recognized the difference between circumstances and the thoughts shaping them—and you protected your own harmony with insight and compassion. That’s powerful.
Your reminder is spot-on: alignment is just one decision away. And you’re modeling exactly what it looks like to choose it. Keep shining Todd, you crazy diamond!!!.
“So true.We attract what we dwell on. Thanks, Todd.”
Excellent choice, Todd! I hope your accountability partner took the hint, too!
