MKE Week Four — And the Beat Goes On
Yes, the beat goes on — or should I say, the beat down 😊. But in truth, this Master Key Experience (MKE) journey continues to be an incredible ride. I’m still blowing out the cobwebs and waking up parts of myself that have been dormant.
Having retired less than a year ago, I haven’t been challenged mentally in quite some time. Now, things are moving fast — I can’t believe it’s already been four weeks! Old habits really do die hard, yet I’m proud that I’m reading multiple times a day.
I’m chipping away at the cement; the chunks may be microscopic, but progress is progress.
I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to rediscover who I can become. My awareness of how “Subby” influences my world is astonishing. The old blueprint still tries to take control, and it’s a daily effort to overwrite it.
Sitting still for 30 minutes remains a challenge — as soon as I get out of bed, my mind starts racing with things to do. The phrase “DO IT NOW!” keeps echoing in my head.
This week’s focus on Acts of Service offered a fresh perspective. The task I chose last week turned out to be more ambitious than expected — a bit overwhelming, honestly. I wasn’t trying to ignore the directions; I just bit off more than I could chew.
Writing this blog also stretches me since writing isn’t something I naturally enjoy. But, like the rest of this MKE experience, it’s helping me grow into a better version of myself — and I think I like that.
That’s all for now. See you next week —
Same bat time, same bat channel!

Great analogy to a marathon and momentum, Chandrashekar! How supportive.
“Chipping away at the cement; the chunks may be microscopic, but progress is progress.” — I love that! It’s so true. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint, and it sounds like you are building incredible momentum. The fact that you’re aware of the old blueprint trying to take control means you’re already winning the battle. Keep going!
Larry, hi. Love the Batman closing and your play on words at the beginning. You have a wonderful way of sharing what you think. And yes! We celebrate with you that you’re “reading multiple times a day” and “chipping away at the cement”. See you next week!
Thanks Arlene! Take me time to get it together.
