Blog Week 4 –Â Should I quit?
If you’re trying to accomplish anything of significance there’s going to be many opportunities to quit. Quitting starts in your mind or in your head.
I know that every time I start off on an uphill climb, or I’m in the middle of some weight training, I usually hear a voice telling me to stop , or go back or just quit!
I learned over the years of physical training and building a few businesses that anything worthwhile usually has got an uphill component. In other words we might as well admit that if it’s important it’s likely uphill.
This week we were all given a chance to quit the Master Key Experience (MKE) course, and apparently some will. I even considered it myself as it is a lot of work and in areas that are not my every day fare.
The problem with quitting is you’re not going to have the pleasure of enjoying the prize. Many writers have exhorted us to keep our eyes on the prize despite the pain of the journey.
When I was a teenager I used to run cross country races. I made the school team so I was always training or competing. Despite all that running, I always had to battle the voice that screams quit once I was in the pain of running up a difficult hill.
This voice is with us all and it’s definitely not the voice of God! It’s the voice of fear and discouragement, and should we succumb to it’s pleading we will end up discouraged.
I think that one of the things that will keep us in the race, is that we can help so many if we do not quit. Most people in life and in business usually quit, and what they’re doing is quitting on themselves.
Most of these folks probably don’t have a mastermind group to gain strength and encouragement.
As adults our arena may include difficult relationships, both at work and at home. WE also have work and business challenges to overcome
In other words we are given many opportunities to quit or to stand up and persist

Fantastic insight here Ray. That looming beast of quitting. Always trying to get our attention and show us a lazier way. Yet we stand up, dig out feet in and keep going. Well done.
Thank you Ray for this great insight. So very true about that “voice” of fear and discouragement. Pushing back on the voice and moving forward is so key to attaining what I believe Jimmy Buffet referred to as that Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Nicely Done, Ray! Quite insightful. If you have God, unlikely you will quit. Keep climbing, keep masterminding!
Excellent blog post, Ray! I have done a lot of walking, and realized that when you climb those hills, you are rewarded by beautiful views from the top! Keep climbing!
