MKE Week 14 – Finding Harmony Within

A week off, multiple holidays and some external issues led to me completely forgetting to submit my blog this week. Whoops!

Despite that forgetting, I have been consistent with many of my exercises, most importantly The Sit.

In week 14, The Sit is focused on a word, Harmony, and I really took this exercise to heart.

It started with me looking up the actual definition of Harmony in the dictionary. Harmony is defined as an agreement of ideas, feelings or actions; a pleasing combination of different parts.

To that definition, I added my knowledge and understanding of Harmony in a musical setting. As a vocalist, being in harmony is particularly important and when someone is not in harmony, the sound of the whole (including many different parts) is not so pleasing. When in Harmony, the sound is quite pleasing.

As I thought about these definitions, I really focused on the pleasing element of Harmony. My thoughts also shifted to understanding Harmony in a business sense, particularly the power of Harmony in a leadership team for a company.

In fact, my most recent job (which I really enjoyed) ended due to a lack of Harmony – Lack of Harmony within the organization and lack of harmony in my unbalanced life.

All these things came together along with some external pressures bringing me to wonder about my PPNs and DMP. Did I get it right? Are these PPNs my deepest needs? And this DMP still feels a little strange – is it my authentic self or is there still some cement driving those desires?

In many ways I felt like a wave being tossed by the sea – one day feeling confident, then next completely questioning everything.

However, I remained consistent with The Sit. Since I was confused about my DMP (confused only in the sense that I wasn’t sure it came from my truest self), it was difficult to read my DMP with enthusiasm and read my POA card three times a day.

As such, I missed quite a few over the week, BUT I didn’t miss The Sit and that sure paid off!

Today, the full clarity I needed came….and yes, it was during The Sit. 

As I continued reflecting on Harmony along with the definition words like agreement and pleasing, I envisioned 2 rivers coming together. Sometimes this can be violent and treacherous, but other times it can be smooth and peaceful.

My goal is seeking Harmony is smooth and peaceful. It doesn’t mean there are no obstacles or challenges, but I must find “pleasing.”

Obviously, a Sit focused on Harmony will lead to thinking about Harmony with Universal Mind. And by definition, Harmony will be pleasing and agreeable – so that it sounds and feels wonderful.

My Sit confirmed my DMP and the direction I am headed. I also got 2 additional ideas for a lead magnet and a digital product. AND it was smooth, peaceful and definitely pleasing.

That is the Harmony I had been seeking all week as we focused on Harmony.

I found Harmony within myself.
