Monday morning when I started reading The Master Key, Part Nineteen, I stopped short.
“Fear is a powerful form of thought. It paralyzes the nerve centers, thus affecting the circulation of the blood. This in turn paralyzes the muscular system so that fear affects the entire being, body, brain, and nerve, physical, mental, and muscular.” Charles Haanel, The Master Key System
For the past week, I have been dealing with a painful situation. Presumably it is inflammation and swelling in my left hip causing the nerve to be inflamed and painful.
From my research, it seems to be that the muscles are cramping and my nerve is collateral damage. I have always had a high threshold of pain, so the fact that this has ranged from uncomfortable to intolerable for me indicates that it is pretty severe.
For a few days after it started, I would just limit my standing and walking time. Once I sat down, the pain would abate. Now after a week, I am standing and moving only as necessary, and even sitting or lying down involves some pain.
How interesting that it is this week that Haanel points out that fear paralyzes the nerve centers, particularly when I felt that fear was a thing of the past. I have been doing my daily readings and exercises.
I have my PPNs correct, DMP honed. I am optimistic, excited, and believe in the possibility of the future I desire for the first time ever.
As I read The Greatest Salesman Scroll V three times every day, I continue to affirm that “I will labor harder than ever before and push my muscles until they cry for relief, and then I will continue.”
Wow. Muscles and nerves. I am sure feeling the readings this week! In addition to the attention to positioning, rest, and therapy for my physical being, I am focusing my mind daily on the remedy for fear which is love. “Perfect love casts out all fear” (1 John 4:18).
I am ready to move forward to the place where I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.

That statement about fear struck me like a hammer as well. It makes a lot of sense! Hope you feel better soon.
