I’ve been playing catch-up since the beginning. About 4 hours before the first MKE webinar, I fell, just about knocked a tooth out and bloodied my arm.
The next day I went to the dentist who tried to save my tooth and when that failed two days later, I went back and she made me a false tooth using a 3-D printer. Pretty miraculous!
I was really relieved that I didn’t have to go to services for Yom Kippur, the day of atonement and a trip to California on my 81st birthday with a gap in my smile.
With so much and more going on, I’ve been pretty inconsistent in the honor requirements. I’ve been giving myself a bit of slack as I work on creating the consistency that new habits require. Up until now, consistency has been a big challenge.
I was pretty consistent until Wednesday evening, which was the start of Yom Kippur. It is a 26-hour total fast that started Wednesday before dark and ended after eight on Thursday night.
It is a special sacred time and I felt that the readings for the course were not appropriate. The next I had a 10 o’clock flight to California for my 81st birthday. I did some readings and was going to do this post on the plane but I didn’t have Internet connection.
I listened to the blog instructions webinar and thought I was really in trouble because it said that the blog was due Friday morning, Eastern time and I was watching that Friday afternoon in Los Angeles. I figured I was done almost before I got started.
But then… I re-read the notebook and it said the blog was due on or before Friday midnight Kaui time! This had to be the correct due date!! I was so relieved and happy that I hadn’t blown it in less than a week.
I went out to birthday dinner with my family and after spending time with my granddaughter, I am writing my blog post. Now if I can only stay awake long enough to submit it!
