Week 1 of MKE 2025 kicked off, and my brain was… elsewhere.

New business opportunities were flooding in, and I was completely distracted. “It’s fine!” I told myself. “I’ve been through MKE before. What could I really miss? I’ll just catch the replay.”

Famous last words.

I’m usually front-and-center, totally engaged for the entire class session. But this time, I let “busy” win. Here’s the lesson that hit me hard: “busy work” is an endless trap.

When I finally watched the replay, I instantly regretted missing the live energy.

It was packed with powerful reminders and action steps that re-ignited why this journey is so life-changing.

Then it hit me: I’d let my best habits slide. I wasn’t even doing my “Do it now!” 500 times a day—a practice that created so much change for me last year.

I realize that this change doesn’t just happen; it requires maintenance.

If I’m being really honest, it wasn’t just business. I was a little ashamed. I’d stepped down from being a guide because my mind was spinning out of control. I knew it was my responsibility to right myself and i didn’t know how.

Those cognitive challenges combined with unstable housing and income, I simply couldn’t prioritize which fire to put out first. I was also worried I wouldn’t be welcomed.

That’s just a story that I was telling myself and likely it was “sophisticated procrastination”.

I deserve the life I want, and I can do the daily habits to get it. So I chose to show up for every weekly MKE session this season from this point forward.

This week was my wake-up call.

I’m strengthening my commitment and re-prioritizing my time.

To support this mental reset, I’m also doing a physical one. I’ve started a juice cleanse—a total restart for my body and my spinning mind. I’m ready for what’s next.

Onward!

  • Sounds great, Stephanie. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am trying to focus on all the little details that I chose to deal with from a distance last time, that is, I’m zooming in and deal with them up close and personal. Peace be the journey.
