minutes remaining

Pace. Velocity. The speed of movement.

I am reminded of the irate gentleman who stamped his foot and said, “I want patience, and I want it NOW!”

As we get excited about our future, set goals, and take daily steps to achieve our dharma, it is easy to be like the child mentioned the The Master Key – Week Seven who wants to dig up the seed every 15 minutes to see if it has grown yet.

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. So go slower to get faster.

This week I have had to remind myself that I can’t do everything all at once. It is impossible to bake a cake while you are mixing it. Each step comes in its order and the correct sequence gives the desired result.

It is okay to slow down. Be intentional. Stay consistent. Before you know it, you will see the seed emerging from the soil.

  • “This landed so deeply. The ‘baking a cake while you are mixing it’ analogy is such a vivid and perfect reminder that the process itself is sacred. It really connects with that image of digging up the seed—it’s a powerful call to replace anxious impatience with faithful consistency. ‘Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast’ is a mantra I’ll be carrying with me. Thank you for this beautiful and much-needed wisdom.”

  • I love this Darnelle, especially: “Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. So go slower to get faster.” That is VERY wise!
