I meditate first thing in the morning after reading the Greatest Salesman and the Haanel lesson of the week. Many of my ideas, for this blog, are born during this meditation.
Staying focused during today’s meditation with all that is occurring (conversations, phone ringing, cat meowing to be fed, hair dryer, my ears which never stop ringing, sometimes the list of distractions is never-ending) can be a challenge.
Then I realize that all those distractions are a part of the primordial soup, the universe talking to me. What then is the silence I’m looking for? Haanel 12-26:
“It is in the Silence that you get in touch with the Omnipotent power of the subconscious mind from which all power is evolved.” Charles Haanel
Possibly I’m still thinking into existence the brain cells necessary to hear and feel this omnipotent power. I intellectually understand what is being said and I’m drawn to these concepts.
I’m looking for a deeper understanding though where I will actually be able to make conscious use of these principles. I realize that these principles are always coming into play in all our lives mostly without conscious direction and that generally means not moving forward.
Moving forward on purpose and in a direction (think compass) aligned with Universal Law and with focus/concentration (magnifying glass) by applying myself to the various exercises will lead to success. I persist. I succeed.

Ron, your post on silence felt calm and real. I liked your early morning practice, even with ringing ears, phones, and pets. Your Haanel quote showed me where true power starts: in stillness. The compass and lens images helped me aim and focus. Your line, “I persist. I succeed,” pushed me to keep going. Thank you for sharing.
“‘I persist. I succeed.’ That’s it. The gap between intellectual knowledge and conscious use is closed through the daily work. Thanks for the honest reflection and the clear visual of the compass and magnifying glass. Onward.”
