Part 20 of The Master Key is…powerful. Pun intended.
Throughout this lesson, Haanel repeatedly returns to the idea of power—not as something external or forceful, but as something that naturally results from right thinking. In Section 4, he states:
“Thinking is the true business of life, power is the result.” Charles Haanel, Master Key System
That sentence alone feels like it could take weeks to fully unpack.
Later, in Section 8, he writes:
“It is this power which will enable you to plan fearlessly, to execute masterfully.” Charles Haanel, Master Key System
This stood out to me because it connects power directly to action. Power isn’t just an abstract concept; it shows up in confidence, clarity, and the ability to move forward without hesitation.
In Section 10, Haanel references “the nature of this power,” and by Section 17 he brings it to an even deeper level:
“An understanding of these facts, first intellectually and then emotionally, will enable us to drink deeply from this ocean of infinite power.” Charles Haanel, Master Key System
I love that distinction—understanding something intellectually is one thing, but allowing it to sink in emotionally is where real change seems to happen.
Each time I read through this lesson, I feel a surge of excitement about what Haanel is saying. And at the same time, if I’m being honest, I’m not sure I fully understand it yet.
But maybe that’s part of the process. The repetition, the Sit, and the gradual shift in awareness all seem to be leading me there.
That’s where Part 19 comes back to mind. In the introduction, Haanel reminds us that we don’t have to fully understand what this power is or exactly how it works.
What matters is recognizing that it does work—and that when we conform to the requirements of the law, it becomes “our obedient servant.”
Oh. My. Gosh.
That idea alone changes how I think about effort, control, and even trust. Instead of striving or forcing outcomes, the focus shifts to alignment—thinking correctly (all the MKE exercises and especially the Sit), feeling deeply (ENTHOOOOSIASM -also my Franklin Makeover word for the week), and allowing power to express itself naturally.
I’m so excited about this, and I can’t wait to start seeing more evidence of these laws at work in my life and circumstances!
I’m paying closer attention now—watching for the ways this power shows up, both subtly and unmistakably, as these principles begin to show up in my reality.
