I’ve been thinking a lot about Chapter Two of Og Mandino’s “The Greatest Salesman in the World.” The part that says, “I will greet this day with love in my heart.”
This by far, resonates in my soul most as I try already to live in such a way that my heart directs me in every step.
In my job as an Activity Director in a nursing home, I get to put that into practice every day.
I greet my residents with a smile and real kindness. Not the “just going through the motions” kind, but the kind that comes from genuinely caring about them.
I manage my staff with that same approach too, with grace and teamwork. We all want the same thing — to make our facility feel like home for our residents.
I thought about this chapter even more fully and realized that although this may come easy for me in my line of work, and with most strangers that I may encounter in life, I could choose to lead with my heart and celebrate LOVE all the time instead of only when it comes effortlessly.
This chapter reminds me that when I do choose to love first in all areas, I most certainly see the payback in kindness pretty quickly too.
Regarding those blue rectangles…
OK, so I’ve only done part of my week 2 chore, its one I have put off. One that I procrastinate profusely on!
But those dang blue rectangles! Yes! Linking! I get it now!
I see them everywhere and they are definitely reminders that the deadline to finish my chore is coming up!
They have been my little winks from the universe that I made a promise to finish something and I ALWAYS KEEP MY PROMISES!
Struggles in the first weeks: Time management, culture shock, sitting still besides my hot bath time, sending in DMP, (next thing on my to do list tonight.)
I also would like to put in more effort in interacting on the website with my 2025-26 class mates.

Sitting still and culture shock…the two biggest eye openers for me when I first took the course also! Keep up the great work, I can’t wait to read more of your blogs.
Stacie, how blessed the residents and staff where you are have you there leading with your heart and being that heart blessing. I loved hearing that…and loved that you saw how the blue rectangles “have been my little winks from the universe that I made a promise to finish something and I ALWAYS KEEP MY PROMISES!” Keep your delight going!
