DMP (definite major purpose) and persistence
Charles Mully moved through his life’s challenges at first wanting to survive, then thrive and finally to give back to others that were coming from circumstances similar to his beginnings.
His purpose moved from simply being able to survive, to saving thousands of children, to at the end of the narrative changing local weather patterns by planting millions of trees.
I am working towards these ends as well, learning that financial security is tied into helping others realize and achieve their dream as I also achieve mine. It sometimes takes many years of learning to finally find the gold under the cement.
PMA (positive mental attitude)
Mully could have taken the easy way and continued down his path of making more and more money. His beginnings of so many years without help from others eventually caused him to see a different picture and want to help other children that might not be as fortunate without early intervention from someone else.
In that same light, I can see myself finding my way so that I am then able to give hope to someone else of a different outcome. Knowing a different outcome is possible and training the mind to focus on that is a worthwhile goal.
POA (plan of action)
Mully created an action plan, that changed and developed, as his life progressed.
Sometimes it was only what was required in the moment (survival) and then as his circumstances improved, he was able to create more and more income for his family through business ventures that were helping his community in various ways.
When there was much money, he finally saw he could use his wealth to educate others so they would be able to fend for themselves and pay their good fortune forward.
I think it takes looking at this from a different angle for someone like myself that hasn’t had the same type of struggle. Although I can appreciate the similarities as we are all human.
MMA (Master Mind Alliance)
It took many individuals to help Mully change his circumstances – from the Indian woman giving him his first job then promoting him to manager, to his wife and finally at the end of the narrative all his biological children and some of the “adopted” children working on different aspects of the community they had collectively created.
Hearing someone else’s point of view, learning from another perspective is an important part of creating a different story for yourself.
What you know and can see for yourself is very important to you and to someone else just as it is important for you (me) to see things from the perspective of someone who has had different life experiences.
Mully (the movie) is very entertaining and more importantly it shows how one person can begin a ripple in a pond that changes thousands of lives as time marches on and might even change the earth itself. I highly recommend.

Ron, this review deeply reflects your calm clarity and thoughtful insight. Well expressed and inspiring! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
Yes, indeed Ron, Mully is a must see. I enjoyed how he really saw that he had to go in a different direction after being robbed himself and finally he felt and saw the despair in the eyes of the men he had refused to give “just a little help.” Thank you for your post, Ron!
Its on my list! Sounds like it is a must-watch. sounds very inspirational! Thanks for sharing 🙂
This is a beautiful breakdown, Ron. You’re right—it’s about finding our own way so we can “pay the good fortune forward.” Your points on POA and MMA are spot on.
