A little over 50 years ago when I was becoming interested in spirituality, reading books such as “The Doors of Perception” by Aldous Huxley and “Be Here Now” by Ram Dass and experimenting with substances that gave me a glimpse of what be here now could mean, I came across the idea of being the observer of my own life.
Ram Dass said to be the observer from your “heart cave.” “I” reside within and can be an observer of the effects/events happening in my life. I didn’t understand that there was a cause and that I could change the effect by changing the cause.
I didn’t understand that my thoughts were the cause and that by changing my thoughts my outward life would change. I’ve kept this “heart cave” idea alive ever since along with my experiences from my experimentation.
On some level I have known that by changing my moods (such as making myself smile after a difficult day) I would cause an effect and be happy again. GS, Scroll VI pg. 79;
“Like the tides, my moods will rise; my moods will fall.” Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World
I didn’t really understand that by consciously following a set of steps, even though books such as the Carlos Castaneda Don Juan series of books told of such steps, I could lead myself into a different life.
Actually, until the Master Key Experience (MKE), I didn’t know of such a set of steps. The concentrated exercises have given me a new awareness, a new perspective. So why have I not played 110%? The “old blueprint” must be strong with me.
A career, raising a family, politics, entertainment (TV) took me away from thinking of these things for decades and now the yearning to know my true self has brought me back.
I now see that Universal Mind (God) is powerful and is inside of me (and everyone and everything) and has been nudging me, for most of my life, to wake up and pay attention to truth!

The Universal Mind is persistent! Thank you Ron.
Ron, your post is a beautiful reflection of the path. Thank you for being on this journey with me.
What a beautiful journey of awakening Ron. You’ve carried the “heart cave” through decades, and now with MKE, that awareness is finding structure and power.
Your recognition that thought shapes life is a huge step, your truth and clarity are increasing, and the best is unfolding in you. ✨
