My name is Michael Kenny, and I’m a music therapist, drummer, and teacher who believes deeply in the power of rhythm and music to connect, heal, and inspire.

Music has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember, not just as a creative outlet, but as a meaningful way to support growth, expression, and well-being in others.

As a music therapist, I work with individuals of all ages and abilities, using music as a tool for communication, emotional regulation, and personal development. I’m especially drawn to the way rhythm can meet people where they are—often reaching places that words cannot.

My approach is grounded, client-centered, and adaptable, shaped by careful listening and respect for each person’s unique experience.

Drumming is at the heart of my musical identity. Whether performing, facilitating group sessions, or teaching one-on-one, I see the drum as both an instrument and a bridge.

Rhythm builds confidence, encourages presence, and creates a shared language that fosters connection. I enjoy helping students and clients discover their own sense of timing, groove, and musical voice.

As a teacher, I aim to make learning accessible, encouraging, and practical. I value patience, curiosity, and steady progress over perfection, and I tailor my instruction to support both technical skill and personal expression.

Above all, I want people to feel comfortable, capable, and motivated in their musical journey.

Music, for me, is about relationship—between sound and silence, teacher and student, therapist and client. I’m grateful to do work that brings creativity, structure, and humanity together through rhythm and sound.
