Unable to fall asleep quickly last night, I was thinking about making a pot of vegetable soup the following day. What am I going to put into this soup? I kept going over the various items I would usually use so I would remember in the morning.
In the past I’ve forgotten key items in a recipe because it wasn’t written down. And, yes, a note pad and pencil would be something to keep by my bedside for such occasions.
Ahh, so this is what our repetition is all about and “if it’s not written down (WPOA) it isn’t true.”
I’ve had a difficult time visualizing, during meditation, having a conversation with a friend and most recently the battleship exercise.
Today I decided to visualize from the opening to the beginning conception (actually to even before I met my wife) of a health food store my wife and I put together 40 years ago.
Here I was able to focus and follow the steps backwards. I didn’t hit all the points this first time and some may have been out of order, however, the exercise is to see that everything, small or complex, begins with thought.
40 years ago, a complex health food store was brought into being beginning with thought and today a pot of soup will be constructed beginning with my thoughts in a sleepless period last night. And yes, in the morning my thoughts became a WPOA!

Ron, I appreciate how you draw meaning from everyday moments like soup. Then you relate that and more thoughtful creations of your Health Food Store. Your reflections reminded me the significance of every thought. Thank you for sharing.
