I turned 50 this year and made myself a promise: quitting is not an option!
Life is so short, even though we like to think we have “time.” One of my main goals at 50 was to actually follow through with what I start. I’ve started so many things in life that I didn’t finish, and sometimes I catch myself wondering…what if I had kept going?
This year I started a business and joined MKE, and honestly, I’ve been falling “behind” in both. In the past, I would’ve already thrown in the towel, but not this time! Between my commitment to follow through and what I’m learning through MKE… it dawned on me that I’ll get exactly what I’m supposed to get over these six months (and that I can always re-enroll for the next season to keep growing) I’m still here and showing up.
During Week 4, I went to a business conference in Texas, and everything I’ve been learning was confirmed and reconfirmed. I knew right then: I’m in the right place, at the right time, for such a time as this.
I’m in a really special season of self-discovery right now. Texas was amazing — so many gold nuggets and breakthroughs throughout the conference. But Sunday morning service? Oh my goodness. I haven’t worshiped the Lord that intensely in such a long time. It was absolutely a divine appointment. 🙌
MKE has helped me “relax” into this process. I can’t even fully explain it. This business journey has been just as much spiritual and personal growth as it’s been professional. The calls are fire, the events are life-shifting, and the people…Wow. To be surrounded by believers who are on fire for God, in tune, and have such a growth mindset…it fills my cup to overflowing. I love having this community and this season in my life. I know God has me exactly where He wants me.
Between MKE and my business, I’m learning to focus on the world within — replacing bad habits with good ones, forming new neural pathways, and watching God work through it all.
Fifty is my year for follow-through, for discovering me, and for walking in my definite major purpose in life.
Just quit?
That’s most definitely not an option!
