minutes remaining

If Week 1 was my origin story, full of hope, humor, and a hint of overconfidence, then Week 2 was the part of the movie where the hero realizes… this quest is way harder than it looked in the trailer. And I’ve actually seen this movie before.

Assignments? Late.
Energy? Fluctuated.
Faith? Tested, but unshaken.

There were moments when I felt like I was running on fumes, from working long hours at the hospital, staring at the mountain of work ahead, wondering if I’d bitten off more than I could chew. Yet somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, something incredible happened: I finally wrote my Definite Major Purpose Statement.

After one full year of circling around it, overthinking it, praying about it, rewriting it, and avoiding it, I’m grateful that it finally came out. And in that moment, I felt a strange peace wash over me. It wasn’t perfect, but it was honest. And for the first time in a long time, I could see a clearer picture of what God’s been trying to show me all along.

This week, I also discovered my Personal Pivotal Needs, the two things that my life must revolve around if I want to live with true alignment: True Health and Legacy.

True Health means more than just fitness or energy. It’s spiritual, mental, and emotional wholeness living in balance with God, myself, and the people I love.

Legacy means pouring that health and purpose into others my family, my community, and anyone whose path crosses mine.

Team Talk Time
One of the best parts of this journey has been my daily conversations with my team. We check in, laugh at our struggles, lift each other up, and remind ourselves that forming good habits takes time, patience, and grace. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about showing up. Every single day.

And as I show up, I’ve started recognizing new heroes in my story. My parents, whose faith and perseverance have shaped me. My wife, whose love and patience hold me steady when I start to drift. My children for their boundless energy and unwavering belief in my ability to lead them into their future. And Jesus, my ultimate Hero, who unconditionally loves me and sacrificed everything, because He believed I was worth saving.

That truth alone humbles me every time I think about it: the Creator of the universe looked at me, with all my flaws, and still said, “You’re worth it.” How could I not live with gratitude after that?

Reflections from the Road
Week 2 was messy, humbling, and full of small victories. But through it all, I felt growth spiritual, emotional, and practical. I learned that even when I fall behind, grace keeps me moving forward.

So yes, Week 2 was better than Week 1. I’m still just getting started.

The hero’s journey continues, and though I don’t know every twist and turn, I know this: I will complete my mission, one way or another, because I always keep my promises and faith doesn’t quit.

And as Week 3 begins this Sunday… I’m saying my prayers, reading all assignments with enthusiasm, gratitude, purpose, and more hope than I had before.
