A mentor in the past talked about how he would read the same passage over and over until it seeped into his subconscious. I didn’t understand this concept. Now with our readings, especially of the Master Keys, I understand. I could have kept reading week 1 for another week and would still be enjoying.
The first reading or two was tentative for me and I wasn’t able to pick out text to highlight. Then, what I wanted to highlight became obvious to me. Sometimes I read the highlighted parts and other times the complete text. And reading “The Greatest Salesman in the World” as instructed, “As I repeat the words daily they will soon become a part of my active mind, but more important, they will also seep into my other mind, that mysterious source which never sleeps, which creates my dreams, and often makes me act in ways I do not comprehend.” (Pg. 56) I will shed my old skin and walk tall with a new life.
Two sections from the Master Keys lesson 2 that stand out for me (although everything stands out) are, 2-13.“ In this way, the conscious mind becomes the responsible ruler and guardian of the subconscious mind. It is this high function which can completely reverse conditions in your life.” And 2-14 “It may properly be called the “watchman at the gate” of the great subconscious domain.”
Taking the next 6 months to train my conscious mind to be the watchman at the gate is a truly exciting challenge for me. As I continue reading, I enjoy the unfolding of me.
Ron, I love how you describe letting ideas seep into your deeper mind instead of forcing them. It amazes me that I learn something new every time I re-read the MKE and GS. Thank you for sharing.
I love the auto-suggestion piece. I like to remind my kids-at least my daughter (can’t tell my son cause he knows everything at 17yo and he’s the most mature person in the house according to him :)) that you only reach as far as you dream and that if you think you’re not popular at school (14yo), you’ll never be popular, and if you think you’re dumb, you will become dumb. I like how the Greatest Salesman “awake, every morning, with a vitality [he’s] never known” and how he is rising from the “pools of self-pity”. I have certainly been there!
