In our home, a new phrase has taken root: “You’ve got 7 seconds!”
It started as a playful reminder from MKE—flip a negative thought into a positive within seven seconds. But now it’s become a family rule of sorts.
When one of us starts drifting into complaint, criticism, or worry, someone chimes in with a smile and says, “You’ve got 7 seconds!”
It’s amazing how quickly the energy in the room shifts.
We laugh.
We regroup..
And most importantly, we practice choosing a better thought.
I love that what once felt like a personal mindset challenge has grown into a household habit. Seven seconds is all it takes to redirect a moment, a mood, and sometimes even a whole day.
