Just Don’t Quit!

Ugh!!! During week three, I felt more confidence about the “system”, the steps, the process. I thought I was understanding, grasping the concepts, how much, when, what…then SPLAT! Week four put me in a tailspin. I am panicking to catch up, to understand the progression.

My “feelings” overwhelmed me last night. I was experiencing so many: frustration, worry, sorrow, incompetence, anger, even despair. All of these were manifesting into physical symptoms, headache, backache, fatigue, lack of focus.

“NOW, is a good time to just ‘sit and be.” I told myself. I closed my computer, put my notebook away and prepared a warm, Epsom salt bath. I set a candle on the vanity, lit it then turned the lights out and submerged myself into the water. I closed my eyes and just focused on me, my body, the quiet.

I emerged after 20 minutes feeling more grounded and supported. I was going to be okay. The work will get done and I will feel proud of myself.

As long as I keep going, keep working at it, keep telling subby I am good, purposeful, needed and successful, my world will be what it is suppose to be for me.

  • Carole! Thank you for reading and responding to my blog. My health and sanity has always been a priority. I usually just push through the discomfort, the muck, because that is my “concrete”. It felt really good to “step back” and allow myself to release and regroup. A relaxing epsom salt bath is wonderful!! ( plus, I do like the wine! lol.)

  • Thank you Janet, for taking the time to read and respond to my blog. This response is over a month late, but sincerely appreciated! I so adore the way you verbalize thoughts and apply them in a constructive way. Many times I just see myself as “surviving” but you have given me confidence that I act in calculated manners and yes, I am learning to apply intentionaly!

  • Fantastic job Diane. Terrific job observing where you were and taking action to bring everything back into focus. You got this!

  • Wow! Great example of replacing negative thought with relaxation! Reprogramming your neural network so that when that sense of overwhelm may be approaching you can now go to that happy place of peace and calm instead. This crisis brought you to the point of application of what you are learning. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Nicely Done, Diane. Good job not letting stress get the best of you! I might have to try your method!!
